1st round picks 15-18: Dolphins get help on the offensive line in drafting Pouncey

By Dominique Wise on April 29, 2011

Pouncey instantly upgrades the Dolphins offensive line!

15. Dolphins select Florida’s C/OG Mike Pouncey:

Analysis:  Pouncey is a great run blocker and adequate pass blocker. He plays with a nasty mean streak and addresses a major need on the Dolphins sub par offensive line.

16. Redskins select Purdue’s DE Ryan Kerrigan:

Analysis:  Redskins defensive coordinator Jim Haslet loves players who can rush the quarterback and are solid against the run. Solid pick by the Redskins.

17. Patriots select Colorado’s OT Nate Solder:

Analysis: Veteran LT Matt Light is a free agent and probably won’t return. The Patriots had to find a replacement and they did a good job in selecting Solder. Solder is a solid young LT with a lot of upside.

18. Chargers select Illinois DT Corey Liuget:

Analysis: I question this pick. Liuget is a talented DT. But I don’t think he fits the Chargers scheme.
