BCS No. 1 Oklahoma goes down

By Dominique Wise on October 24, 2010

Great victory over the BCS No. 1 Oklahoma Sooners

I was never a big believer in the Oklahoma Sooners this season. I understand they have a good offense with QB Landry Jones, RB DeMarco Murray and WR Ryan Broyles, but their pass defense is this team’s achilles heel. Missouri QB Blaine Gabbert was 30 of 42 for 308 yards and 1 touchdown. Gilbert was efficient and picked apart Oklahoma’s defense with secend level throws of 15-20 yards deep outs and crossing routes. The Sooners did a good job of taking away the Tigers screens, the Tigers love to run bubble screens.

Oklahoma is now 6-1 because they committed three costly turnovers. Two of the turnovers led to 10 points. RB DeMarco Murray struggled andĀ  was held to a season-low 49 yards on 12 carries. He was effective in the passing game with catching eight passes for 48 yards and a touchdown.

Mr. Murray struggled mightily to find any open holes against Missouri's defense

Missouri looks to be legit, but they have to carry this momentum over into Nebraska next week who won yesterday in a shootout againstĀ  Oklahoma State 51-41. The Tigers defense was good today but next week they will have to be great! Go Tigers!
