Raheem Morris became the latest coach to get the axe this year. He and Steve Spagnuolo were two coaches said to be on the dread Hot Seat. Morris’ Tampa Bay Bucaneers lost 10 straight games and were beat in the season finale 45-24 by the Falcons (but it wasn’t that close). Spagnuolo’s Rams went 2-14 with a team that was expected before the season to compete for the NFC West crown.
Morris was 17-31 as a head coach in his three years in Tampa. His Buccaneers went 10-6 last season, but after finishing 4-12 this season his dismissal was expected. Spagnouolo and Morris’ firings do have one very big similarity. Both teams quarterback’s digressed this year. For Tampa quarterback Josh Freeman threw 16 TDs with 22 interceptions this year. The Rams former number one overall pick Sam Bradford only threw 6 TDs with 6 interceptions and struggled with a bad ankle most of the season.
