DeSean Jackson Inactive

By Rudy Haynesworth on November 13, 2011

$Pay This Man$

Philadelphia  receiver DeSean Jackson is inactive for the Eagles game today against the Cardinals.  He reportedly missed a special teams meeting.  His being inactive is non-injury related.  Jackson has struggled with drops this season while trying to get a contract extension from the Eagles.

He is in the last year of a 4 year, $3 million contract (his rookie contract).  You would be hard pressed to find anyone that doesn’t believe he has outplayed his contract.  Jackson has 29 receptions and 2 TDs this season.  He has 200 receptions in three and a half seasons.  He has also had two 1000 yard receiving seasons (2009, 2010) and is on pace for another this year (501 yards in 8 games).  That is not to mention his 4 career return TDs.

Drew Rosenhaus is Jackson’s agent.  So you know that Jackson is going to get paid.  But, you have to wonder if Jackson was doing this intentionally because of his lack of receiving a new contract on a 3-5 team.
