Ndamukong Suh had his appeal of a two game suspension denied. He met with league official Art Shell to determine whether his suspension could be decreased. By now of course, you know it was for the stomp of Packer backup guard Evan Dietrick- Smith. Suh will miss crucial games for Detroit including New Orleans today. The Lions do have depth on their defensive line, but they will miss last season’s rookie of the year who has 3 sacks this season.
But, to add to his issues Suh was in a car accident in his hometown of Portland, Oregon. Suh was driving and fortunately no one was injured. During his suspension he is not allowed to practice with the team. It has been announced that Suh wasn’t impaired while driving.
Steve Johnson of the Buffalo Bills recieved a $10,000 fine for his “Plaxico Shoot Yourself In the Leg” celebration dance. He also did a crashing Jet after mocking Plaxico Burress’ shooting himself which caused him to serve two years in prison (not funny). In the 28-24 loss to the Jets, Johnson also had several key drops (including a potential game-winner). Johnson was a seventh round draft pick out of Kentucky who has 54 receptions and 5 TDs this season.
It would’ve been one thing if Johnson had scored the game winning TD with :03 left on the clock. But, to do something like that to get the other team fired up early in the game is stupid. If I were a decision maker in the Bills organization, I would be “So Serious” about this (pun intended). And for Suh he has to realize this will hurt his team and that any actions after the whistle or further personal fouls are probably going to land him additional suspension.
