Offseason Acquisitions: Miami Dolphins

By Rudy Haynesworth on July 14, 2010

The Dolphins biggest pickup of the offseason was that of Playmaking WR Brandon Marshall.  Marshall is the only receiver in the league to have had three straight 100 reception seasons.  If that isn’t impressive enough, Marshall caught 21 passes in a single game (an NFL record) against the Colts in December.  The Dolphins traded 2 2nd round draft picks for Marshall.

Beyond that the biggest moves concerning veterans was resigning backup QB Chad Pennington and releasing Joey Porter and trading 1st round draft disappointment Ted Ginn Jr. Miami’s draft brought them Penn State DT Jared Odrick, OLB Koa Misi, SS Reshad Jones, and a few others like CB Nolan Carroll out of Maryland.  The Dolphins did draft at positions that had weakness in like the secondary.  But, who knows if the acquisition of Brandon Marshall wiull be enough to take the fins to the next level?  But, Miami did get LeBron James and Chris Bosch.
