The Minnesota Vikings have been snake- bitten this year. There was the Randy Moss fiasco, which led to Brad Childress’ firing. Then both Favre and Peterson dealing with injuries. To make matters even worse, two of Minnesota’s last three games have been resceduled due to weather. That may seem odd (since the Vikings play in a dome), but since the collapse of the Hubert Humphrey Metrodome they have been homeless playing their last two home games in Detroit and at the University of Minnesota.
The latest change for Minnesota is in their meaningless matchup against the Eagles. Philadelphia has already clinched the division and it’s playoff spot, but they were due to host the Favre-less Vikings last night. But, early Sunday the game was rescheduled due to heavy snow. Heavy snow? When I was a kid we walked 2 miles in the snow to school. The game will be played Tuesday night, and because of the extra days, don’t be suprised if you see one Brett Favre (make his 1oth farewell speech of the season) and attempt to play.
On another note, the NFC West is terrible. With that being said, someone has to win the division. Rookie Sam Bradford has his St. Louis Rams with the division lead at 7-8. He set a record with most completions for a rookie quarterback (335) yesterday in a win against the 49ers which sent head coach Mike Singletary packing after the loss. Seattle (6-9) and St. Louis square off next week.
This year the NFC West became the first division in history to have all four teams lose in the same week. The worst part is, they did it three seaparate times this year (pitiful). Seattle lost yesterday to Tampa Bay, which guarantees they won’t be .500. But, they can still win the division and make the playoffs if they defeat St. Louis. This game has been rescheduled from 4:15 to the last Sunday night game of the regular season at 8:20 on January 2nd. Good luck St. Louis. At least they will be 8-8 if they win the game.
