Retract

By Rudy Haynesworth on October 21, 2011

The trade between Detroit and Philadelphia is a no go.  The trade had Jerome Harrison and a late round pick going to the Eagles for Ronnie Brown.  The running backs will stay with their respective teams due to a failed physical.

The trade was considered voided after Philadelphia team doctors discovered Harrison (the former 4th round draft pick from Washington State) has a brain tumor.  This event actually may have been a blessing in disguise for Harrison.  He will continue to see doctors Friday, but may not play again this season.

Ronnie Brown will continue to fight for carries in Philadelphia.  Today’s news may lead to Harrison being placed on IR.  But, Harrison had to fight to start at running back in the NFL so I’m assuming he will fight just as hard to get back to playing a significant role on a team.
