Rudy Rude's off-season power rankings

By Rudy Haynesworth on May 24, 2010
 2010 RK TEAM REC COMMENT
1 Saints 16-3  The Super Bowl Winners will definitely be looking to repeat and the nucleus is still there
2 Colts 16-3  I’m not sayin they’ll be in the Super Bowl again but you have to beat them to get there
3 Vikings 12-5  This is assuming Favre plays next season otherwise this team will be mid pack
4 Cowboys 12-6  They have the talent to win the Super Bowl but how will Romo respond to pressure
5 Chargers 13-4  This team has something to prove to me You get rid of LT you get Matthews How will team respond
6 Packers 11-6  They still have to play Brett Favre I have big questions in the run game and the front 7
7 Patriots 10-6  Brady is still there with Moss and Welker The new defense gets another year the Pats will be in the playoffs
8 Steelers 9-7  This team will struggle without Roethlisberger for at leat 4 weeks Also where will the rushing yards come from
9 Eagles 11-6  There will be a McNabb hangover This team has a lot of talent but lets see how Kolb plays Vick might be QB
10 Giants 8-8  The big question is will this team play up to its potential There is depth on offense now youth on defense No Excuses
11 Titans 8-8  Loved what they did at the end of last season Young an Johnson are great combo
12 Jets 11-7  This team has loaded up Holmes Tomlinson Taylor Cromartie They’re shootin for a Super Bowl
13 Cardinals 11-7  The Cardinals have turned strenghts into weaknesses in the offseason  Betta hope DA don’t get in
14 Texans 9-7  The run game doesn’t scare anyone Schaub and Johnson will do their thing The defense will have to step up
15 Bengals 10-7  There is an assortment of talent on this roster Can rookies and FA like Gresham, M Jones, and Bryant gel
16 Ravens 10-7  The Ravens fattened up in the draft Good luck opposing QBs Their great D along with Boldin at WR could be trouble
17 Broncos 8-8  Tebow aint gonna help this year Getting rid of Marshall didn’t help Lets see how the rookie QBs Decker and Thomas will play
18 Panthers  8-8  Things gonna get worse before they get better  Whose going to get Steve Smith the ball
19 49ers 8-8  I like the 49ers with Singletary as the man I also look for Carr to be this team’s starter in week 10 Lots of talent on this team
20 Falcons 9-7  Falcons haven’t done a lot to improve but are solid  Robinson helps secondary RB Turner’s play is key
21 Dolphins 7-9  Dolphins have a lot of questions like how is Henne going to play How will Ricky and Ronnie play like BBD
22 Bears 7-9  This team is hard to read But its success relies on Cutler, Forte, Hester, and Olsen’s consistency  A healthy defense wouldn’t hurt either
23 Browns  5-11  With Delhomme as opening day starter and these receivers .500 is looking real good
24 Raiders 5-11  Addition by subtraction with the release of Russell but can Campbell win and can McFadden be a star
25 Jaguars 7-9  This team is a punch line top to bottom  As much DL as they drafted they should have 100 sacks next season
26 Redskins 4-12  McNabb will help this team win but I still have serious questions about the secondary and receiving core
27 Chiefs 4-12  M Cassel’s play will have a lot to do with how team plays but T Jones will definitely help run game
28 Bills 6-10  The Bills didn’t do enough to improve in the offseason
29 Seahawks 5-11  Carroll looks to be taking this team in the right direction  L White may fianlly give team a running game
30 Buccaneers 3-13  Freeman may have some success with his youn receivers but this team has a ways to go
31 Lions 2-14  Stafford’s development will be key to this teams immediate success but in this division 5 wins is their ceiling
32 Rams 1-15  Even with Bradford the Rams will still struggle

Saints still the team to beat!
