Steelers Off-season Woes Continue

By Rudy Haynesworth on June 30, 2010

I'll be back

Starting right offensive tackle Willie Colon will most likely miss the entire 2010 season.  He tore his right Achilles’ tendon at the Steelers practice facility on Monday.  He will have surgery on Wendseday, which will almost ensure that he is out for the season.  There is usually a nine month recovery time from that injury.

Colon started all 16 games for the Steelers last season.  He will most certainly be missed by a line that had needs already especially considering the team will be starting the season without its starting quarterback.  Colon is the Steeler that accompanied Roethlisberger that infamous night in Milledgeville, Georgia.

So, down a quarterback (4 games) and a right tackle (all season)= Steeler problems.  Pittsburgh will definitely have to rely heavily on a run game that will have to feature Mendenhall and have contributions from rookie 5th round pick Jonathon Dwyer.
