Top 10 college players to watch out for in the SEC Conference in 2011

By Dominique Wise on July 23, 2011

Best pure cover corner in the SEC!

Here’s a look at players you will see playing on Sunday next year  in the NFL:

1. Alshon Jeffery (WR South Carolina): Jeffrey has the best hands in the SEC and is a big target at 6′4 233 pounds. Last season Jeffrey averaged 17.2 yards per catch.

2. Dont’a Hightower (MLB Alabama): Has great size 6′4 260 pounds and can run. He is also an excellent leader on the field and is a great tackler.

3. Mark Barron (S Alabama): Great football instincts and can hit.

4. Robert Lester (S Alabama): You got to give it up for Bama head coach Nick Saban who knows how to recruit. He has the best safety tandem in the country with Barron and Lester. Lester had 8 interceptions and is a ball hawk. Look for him to post 10 plus this upcoming season due to weak quarterback crop in the SEC.

5. Morris Claiborne (CB LSU): Claiborne had 5 interceptions last season with teams neglecting to throw at All-American now in the NFL Patrick Peterson.

6. Barrett Jones (G/T Alabama): Jones is versatile, he can play the G and T position and is a mauler.

7. Trent Richardson (RB Alabama): Some scouts are saying he will be better than his former counterpart Mark Ingram. We shall see, but one thing for sure he is faster and more explosive than Ingram.

8. Devin Taylor (DE South Carolina): Was first-team SEC defensive lineman last year as a sophomore. The bar is set high for him in 2011.

9. Danny Trevathan (OLB Kentucky): Posted 144 tackles last year to show he is a tackling machine at the OLB position which is impressive.

10. Stephen Gilmore (CB South Carolina): Very versatile player who can play both ways and is the best pure cover corner in the SEC.
