Some week 3 games recap: Bears and Chiefs 3-0 are you serious?

By Dominique Wise on September 28, 2010

"Aren't you glad I hired you, I told you we were going to be the surprise of the year"

Tennessee @ NYG:

Reasons why the Titans won: Their defense played a bend but don’t break kind of game. The Titans defense forced three turnovers. RB Chirs Johnson had 125 yards but on 32 carries. The Giants defense kept him in check until late in the 4th quarter when Johnson busted left for a 40 yard gain.

"We are in trouble, my team not being discipline, trust me it won't happen again, will it?"

Reasons why the Giants lost: The Giants played an undisciplined sloppy game. They made stupid penalties that killed drives. Then QB Eli Manning threw one of the worst interceptions I have ever seen as he tried to throw a pass into the end-zone with his left hand. Just pure dumb! RB Ahmad Bradshaw lost a fumble on the Titans five yard line. The bottom line is that the Giants killed themselves in this game.

Dallas @ Houston:

Why the Cowboys won: America’s team played like a hungry desperate team Sunday. They came out and dominated the Texans on  both sides of the ball. QB Tony Romo was solid as he went 23 for 30 for 284 yards. There was a WR Roy Williams sighting as he caught five passes for 117 yards. The Cowboys came with a balance offense attack of a few runs and passes. The defense dominated one of the NFL’s high powered offenses in limiting the Texans offense to 340 yards.

Reasons the Texans lost: QB Matt Schaub struggled. His star receiver Andre Johnson was hampered all game with an high ankle sprain and was barely a factor. WR Kevin Walter struggled with 3 catches for 34 yards. The Texans offensive lone struggled protecting Schaub and allowed Schaub to be sacked 4 times with three of those sacks coming from OLB DeMarcus Ware.

Pittsburgh @ Tampa Bay:

Reasons why the Steelers won:

Very simple game-plan for the Steelers defense pressure, pressure,  pressure the opposing team’s quarterback. The Steelers sacked QB Josh Freeman 4 times and returned an interception for a touchdown. QB Charlie Batch played well despite two interceptions. Batch was 12/16 for 186 yards and 2 interceptions.

Reasons why the Buccaneers lost:

The Buccaneers offense struggled mightily in this game. The offense was out of sync for most of the game due to the Steelers suffocating defense. The Buccaneers leading rusher was LeGarrette Blount who ran for 27 yards on six carries, that just won’t get it done against this aggressive defense.

SF @ KC:

Reasons why the Chiefs won:

QB Matt Cassell finally had a good game. Even though he threw an interception, he played well by throwing for 250 yards and 3 touchdowns. How about the Chiefs running game, they ran all over the 49ers defense. RB Jamaal Charles ran for 97 yards while Thomas Jones ran for 95 yards. The Chiefs are for real and might end up winning the AFC West due to an easy schedule. This team has speed and plays fast with a lot of energy.

Reasons why the 49ers lost:

Its official QB Alex Smith is a bust. Smith is not the answer at QB for this team. Smith struggled in this game 23/42 for 232 yards with an interception and touchdown. Smith accuracy is the problem. Also the 49ers offensive line is not creating any type of running lanes for RB Frank Gore (15 carries for 43 yards).

Green Bay & Chicago:

Reasons why the Bears won:

For starters the Bears didn’t play as sloppy as the Packers did. The Packers had a team record of 18 penalties and a couple of turnovers. QB Jay Cutler was solid not spectacular as he threw for 221 yards. Who would of thought Cutler would lead this team in rushing with 37 yards.

Reasons why the Packers lost: 18 penalties, I repeat 18 penalties. Not too many teams will win with two turnovers and 18 penalties. Packers running game was horrible. FB John Kuhn lead this team in rushing with 6 carries for 31 yards. This team needs more production out of RB Brandon Jackson who only had 12 yards in this game.
