Week 8 Review

By realfootballtalk on November 3, 2009

Another high scoring week of some good and bad football that was played. Good job by the Ravens of officially saving their season with their win over the was undefeated Ravens. The Ravens played aspiring defensive football. The Broncos showed that they have some issues that they need to address. On offense, the Broncos need to throw the ball deep down the field more often and get their play makers more involved in their offense. WR Eddie Royal is a deep threat and so is Brandon Marshall. In the game against the Ravens, the Broncos offense showed that it is afraid to throw the ball down the field. Why is that Josh McDaniels? You are suppose to be the offensive guru. If the Broncos want to continue to be this years (Miami Dolphins of last year) surprise feel good team then they need to surprise teams with a more balance offense.
Lets give some love to head coach Steve Spagnuolo for getting his first win. I can’t believe I watched some of the Rams and Lions game because it was so boring and painful to watch. Its funny how people are saying the Lions are improved, but I can’t tell. It looks like the Lions might not win another game the rest of the year.
Way to go coach John Fox of the Panthers for getting the memo to run the ball instead of having Jake Delhomme throw the ball. If the Panthers want to continue to earn some victories this season then they need to pound the ball with the RB tandem of Williams/Stewart.
I’m not ready to jump on the Cowboys bandwagon yet. Yes they are peaking right now even though Roy Williams and Tony Romo aren’t on the same page but Tony, come on man, who is Roy Williams, what has he done besides stealing paychecks. Now if the Cowboys beat the Eagles handling then i will believe they are a contender.
The Saints are on their way to home field advantage football fans even if you aren’t a fan of them. If they beat the Patriots n November 30 then they will cruise to a perfect record.
Raider nation, i feel for you, how many more weeks do we have to watch Jamarcus “Don’t Believe in Accuracy” Russell, he is terrible and is a major bust. How do you gain weight during the season and not be fine? Russell has to go and needs to get dropped off ASAP.
Cleveland Browns, where do I start with your organization? I just don’t have the time, there are too many glaring needs and holes on your team. The organization needs to refund all the Browns fans their hard earn money. Who wants to overpay for that horror show that is being displayed every week to watch. How can the Browns get better? Listen Browns fans, 1. QB Derek Anderson and Brady Quinn both need to go or keep at least one as a backup. 2. Sign a veteran QB such as Jason Campbell or trade a second rounder for QB Kevin Kolb of the Eagles. 3. Find a RB such as Lawrence Maroney or Steven Jackson. 4. Sign a veteran WR Reggie Brown, trade for Dewayne Bowe, Deion Branch. 5. Get a pass rusher, not DT and put a fat guy at DE does not qualify as a pass rusher, Browns fans i know you feel me on this one, sign Julius Peppers, Darren Howard, Shawn Merriman. 6. Sign a veteran CB such as Sheldon Brown, Chris McCalister, Mike Mckenzie. Browns fans let me know if you agree with what i am saying!
